RAVEN and her kits came to the ACC because the owner had “Too Many Pets” and we know that the reason that happens is because they’re not spayed and neutered…. RAVEN is an AVERAGE rated lady who is a good mom to boot!! RAVEN & the kittens have been exposed to ringworm but did not test positive for it! Hence the reason they’re on the list tonight…..another ACC expediency!! IF YOU CAN FOSTER THIS MOM & BABES, PLEASE CONTACT A NEW HOPE RESCUE TONIGHT!! Please Note…this family must be pulled TOGETHER by a NEW HOPE rescue and fostered as a family…to FOSTER, you need to be in the vicinity of NYC and able to use the rescue’s vet and bring the cats to adoption events when they are ready…….THIS FAMILY IS NOT AVAILABLE FOR PUBLIC ADOPTION….If you need help finding a NEW HOPE rescue please contact the Help Desk at [email protected]……SAVE THREE LIVES TONITE!!

12/20/15 09:42 Basic Information: Raven is a 3yr old female domestic short haired cat that is currently nursing her two babies and according to the owner there is no medical issues Raven may have that they are aware of. Social Life & Personal: Raven has never been in the presence of children and the owner isn’t how she would interact with one. She has lived with other cats and interacted with them just fine according to the owner. Raven has never been in the presence of a dog and the owner isn’t sure how she would respond in the presence of one. Raven is an indoor only cat that is litter box trained. Raven is described to be shy, friendly, and affectionate with a medium activity level. Behavior Issues: Raven has never bitten a person or another animal according to the owner. The owner has never tried to bath or trim Ravens nails and isn’t sure how she would respond to those grooming agents. However she will allow you to brush her coat and this can be done with no issues. Raven is ok with being held and takes well to being put in a cat carrier for transport. For a New Family to Know: Raven was brought up using a standard litter box and regular clay litter. Raven has been given toys but shows little to no interest in them. Raven did have a scratching post and she used it pretty often according to the owner. When in the home Raven is the type to rarely seek attention or be in a favorite spot inside the home. When interacting with humans Raven plays in a gentle manner. When in the car for transport Raven appears to be afraid and will meow/cry. Raven was brought up eating both wet/dry food and there was no specific brand that the owner gave.

Raven came to the shelter surrendered by an owner who describes her as friendly and affectionate and notes that she socialized well with other cats in the home. Reaction to assessor: Raven is lying in the back of her cage, soft and relaxed. Reaction when softly spoken to: Raven looks at the assessor with soft body language. Reaction to cage door opening: Raven leans forward to sniff at the assessor. Reaction to touch: Raven leans into petting and allows all over body. Placement Determination: Average Raven does not approach the assessor, but appreciates petting and allows handling. Raven is exhibiting behavior suited to average cat parents. Please note that Raven is nursing kittens at the time of the assessment, and this may affect the behaviors shown.
