PANDA – A1051483
Safe 9-24-2015 Manhattan Rescue: Feline Rescue of SI Please honor your pledges: http://felinerescueofstatenisland.org/donation/
**SAFE 09/24/15** NEW HOPE RESCUE needed for PANDA, an agreeable-looking chap who is feeling rather defensive at the shelter. Who can blame him? This dapper dude was brought into the ACC as a stray and when the shelter vet techs put some Activyl on him, he appeared to have a localized reaction. Between the bath which followed and the general, horrible atmosphere at the ACC, poor PANDA has been on edge and that played out as a NEW HOPE rating. Anyone who wants to FOSTER or ADOPT this boy will need to work with a rescue group and live relatively local to the ACC. If YOU can be that lifesaving person, please message the help desk at [email protected] and our trained volunteers will guide you through the process. Otherwise, please pledge toward his care and share PANDA far and wide, tonight!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Panda looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Panda remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, alert with a hard stare. Reaction to touch: Panda hisses at the assessor’s hand, but once touched he slowly retreats while he continues to hiss and growl. Placement determination: NH ONLY Panda is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
