***SAFE 08/22/19*** OLIVER,OLIVER how ADORABLE a face does he have? This 6 year old is already NEUTERED so he’s ready to go if some kind soul will have him. It’s hard to talk about OLIVER and not say something great. Let’s see…. First,he’s really turned up the charm with his assessor. Only a bit hesitant at first but then just awesome from there! He headbutted assessor’s hand, is said to be easy to handle and by the way, got himself a GREAT AVERAGE rating! His is socialized with dogs ,cats and children and is respectful and gentle towards them. He just has one thing lacking and that’s because he has NO HOME! That’s where you all come in. Get to contacting NEW HOPE RESCUES for OLIVER’S sake, at least. And make him the perfect cat he is by sharing your heart and home with him.

Oliver is 6 yrs. old neutered and in good overall health Oliver is described as mellow and friendly. Oliver is well socialized with children cats and dogs interacting with them in a respectful relaxed tolerant and gentle manner. Oliver is comfortable in the presence of cats dogs and children and will walk away when he feels overwhelmed by them. Oliver is litter trained and is an indoor cat. Oliver has a medium activity level and is described as confident mellow friendly assertive aloof affectionate quiet and independent. Oliver is not bothered when he is having his fur brushed picked up and held or disturbed when he is sleeping. Oliver will struggle when he is having his nails trimmed or being given a bath. Oliver uses clumping litter in an open litter box. Oliver likes to play with strings balls and will engage in chasing games. Oliver does not really use scratching post but will scratch furniture or cardboard. Oliver is relaxed when traveling in cars. Oliver will follow his owner around the house and sit in their lap as well as stay in the same room with them. Oliver will sleep wherever he wants to sleep. Oliver eats dry food twice a day and will snack on meat flavored treats. Oliver was calm and quiet throughout the Intake process. Oliver did not show any reactive behavior and allowed himself to be handled easily and without fear. Oliver was receptive to being pet and was confident throughout.

Reaction to Assessor: Oliver was calm and relaxed upon approach. He blinks, but doesn’t turn to look at the assessor when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Oliver remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Oliver was hesitant at first, but sniffs the assessor’s hand and head-butts lightly. He warms up to touch and slowly comes to the front. He starts to purr, solicits attention by twirling around in a circle, and rubs against the assessor. Reaction to being picked up: Oliver becomes tense (possibly due to girth), but allows handling. As per previous owner, Oliver is well socialized with children, cats, and dogs. He is respectful, relaxed, tolerant, and gentle around them. When he feels tired of interaction with them, he will just walk away. He is described as confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, aloof, affectionate, quiet, and independent with a medium activity level. Behavior Determination: Average Oliver interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
