NISMO – A1048246
8-28-2015 Manhattan
***SAFE 08/28/15***HIGGS BOSON and buddy NISMO are getting a run of bad luck. They are at the ACC,NOT because someone dumped or didn’t want them but because their owner died. It’s a sad situation for these two gorgeous girls. HIGGS BOSON is 6 years old and NISMO is 2. They are both, understandably having a hard time in the shelter so their both rated EXPNOCHILD. That doesn’t mean that they won’t warm up to a new owner. It just may take a little while, but that is really the case with any new pet! Please offer to FOSTER or ADOPT both. One would guess that it would make the transition easier if they were together. You can save two lives instead of just one!

08/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Nismo becomes stiff and alert upon approach. She focuses on the assessor with wide eyes when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Nismo remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Nismo slowly backs away from the assessor’s hand and meows softly. She allows brief petting, but twitches when pet on her back. She continues to shift away from the assessor’s hand to avoid touch and lip licks. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Nismo tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
