***SAFE 11/29/15*** MINKY!! What an adorable tiny black kitten! This little male is only 12 weeks old and a little over 2 pounds! He was found as a stray and he may not have had much human contact, because he’s a little unsure around strangers and not too happy being at the shelter. Who can blame the little guy? When he was assessed at the shelter, he blinked slowly as if asking, “Can I trust you?” He lets himself be pet and meows lightly. He’s young and with some socialization, he has the potential to be a great lifelong friend!! But POOR MINKY is on the euthanasia list for tomorrow. What a sad fate for this gorgeous scared little kitten!! You just want to scoop him up and tell him everything will be okay!! MINKY would do great in an experienced cat home with no children. He might need a little time to warm up to his new home. Please give MARVELOUS MINKY a chance at a great kitty life! This little angel needs your help tonight!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Minky was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He was very tense upon intake and every movement made towards him caused him to flee in the opposite direction. He was also very nervous and tense during his initial medical exam, causing him to hiss and try to resist handling. Reaction to assessor: Minky does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside his cage. Reaction when softly spoken to: Minky looks at the assessor and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Minky remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Minky becomes tense and watches the assessor’s hand. He attempts to avoid touch and shifts away, but allows petting and stress meows. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Minky tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
