07/10/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/10/15 10:52HRS BASIC INFORMATION Lily is a spayed 9 month old domestic shorthair cat. She has lived with her owners for the past 4 months after being adopted from ACC. She is being surrendered due to conflicting with the child in the home. SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY Lily is described by her owner as an independent and medium activity cat. Lily would normally stay to herself or play with the resident cat in the home. There was a month before Lily adjusted to the resident cat in the home. She would initially hiss at the other cat when it came near her however her owners stated that she in the past few months, she played well with the resident cat and even slept in the same spot together. Lily lived with a two year old child in the home. Her owner stated that she did not respond well to the child. She would hide from the child and not allow the child to pet or hold her. BEHAVIOR Lily was litter box trained, however when she was first brought home, her owner stated that she defecated on the couch two separate times, possibly because she was stressed by the new environment. Lily allows her owner to pet and pick her up. She would not allow the owner’s child to interact with her. When the child would pet her, she would swipe at him. She would not allow the child to pick her up either, she would softly bite him but not draw blood, until she was put down. Lily is fed 3x a day however she would eat the resident’s cat food as well. Her owner’s stated that when food was being placed down for her, she would rush to eat and then wait until the resident’s cat food bowl was placed down and eat hers as well when noone was nearby. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Lily is a reserved cat. She allows her owners to pet her but for short periods of time. She was accustomed to using Arm and Hammer multi cat litter in an uncovered litter box. She lived with another cat in the home, but was provided her own food bowls, litter box and bed. Lily was used to scratching the fabric guest bed. She rarely sought attention from her owners. DURING INTAKE Lily remained at the entrance of her carrier. When a hand was extended towards her, her body remained loose but still. When the Admissions Counselor had pet her head, she raised her hind legs and would head butt the Admissions Counselor hand. She allowed collaring, scanning for a microchip (positive) and taking photos without displaying any aggressive behavior.

07/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Lily was at the front, soliciting attention by rubbing her cheeks on the cage door. When softly spoken to, she reaches out with her paws. Reaction to cage door opening: Lily remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lily head-butts, remains in place for petting, and begins to purr. Reaction to being picked up: Lily remains soft and nuzzles inside the assessor’s arms. As per previous owner, Lily is an independent cat with a medium activity level. She also lived with another cat, in which she initially hissed at when it came near, but in the past few months she has adjusted to the cat and they got along well. While she would allow the owner to pick her up, she would hide from the child she lived with and would not allow the child to pet and hold her. She would softly nip the child without drawing blood, until she was put down. Behavior Determination: Beginner Lily interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Although she allows all handling with the behavior assessor and other staff members in the care center, she may be intimidated by small children according to the previous owner. This cat can go to a beginner home, but we recommend any future home with children conduct a thorough interaction.
