***SAFE 10/24/15*** SECOND CHANCE FOR MARVELOUS MICKEY!! MICKEY is a 10 years young, DECLAWED lady who should not spend her GOLDEN YEARS in a dirty shelter! She has what is thought to be a URI but nothing antibiotics can’t cure! Her experience with cats,dogs and kids is one thing. FEAR! One must wonder what kind of environment it was in her previous owner’s home! This beautiful girl needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER PRONTO! PLEASE offer her your home, preferably with no kids. Let her decompress and calm herself and she SHOULD be just fine!

10/18/15 08:36 Basic Information: Mickey is a 10yr old female domestic short haired cat that has no past or current medical issues that the owner is aware of. Mickey is also a front paw declawed cat. Social Life & Personality: Mickey comes from a home with children and appears to be fearful of them. In the presence of children Mickey will kepp her distance and may even hide. She doesn’t get along with other cats and displays aggressive like behavior towards them. Mickey will hiss, swat, and may even fight with another cat. Mickey has been around dogs and appears to be fearful of them. She will hide in the presence of a dog. Mickey is an indoor only cat that is litter box trained. Mickey is described to be shy, quiet, and fearful with a medium activity level. Behavior Issues: Mickey has never bitten a person or another animal according to the owner. The owner has never tried to bath or trim Mickeys nails and isn’t sure how she would respond to these grooming agents. Mickey can be selective on who she allows to handle her and brush her coat. The owner explained that she has to feel comfortable with the handler before she will allow you to hold or brush her. When it comes to being put in a cat carrier for transport Mickey appears to be afraid and it can be a struggle getting her into one. For a New Family to Know: Mickey was brought up using clumping litter and a standard litter box. Mickey did have cat toys and showed little to no interest in them. When in the home Mickey is the type to hide or rarely seek attention. Mickey doesn’t engage in interaction with humans but when she does she is gentle. When in the car for transport Mickey appears to be afraid and will meow/cry. Mickey was brought up eating both wet/dry food and the brand the owner gave was Friskies.

10/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
As per previous owner, Mickey is a shy and quiet cat who appears to be fearful of children, dogs and other cats. She is declawed on her front paws. Reaction to assessor: Mickey is lying in the back of her cage, facing the side wall. Reaction when softly spoken to: Mickey turns away from the assessor and faces the back wall, tucking up her paws closer to her body. Reaction to cage door opening: Mickey looks at the assessor and takes a step towards the front, vocalizing. Reaction to touch: Mickey vocalizes sharply and moves away from the assessor. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Mickey does not approach the assessor and appears too stressed to allow much handling. Mickey is exhibiting behavior suited to experienced cat parents with no children or other pets who can allow her to adjust at her own pace.
