I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 08/31/2015 from NY 11208, owner surrender reason stated was PERS PROB. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-030341.

08/31/15 14:37 Mickey is a 4 year old male gray tabby domestic shorthair cat who is being surrendered because the owner wants him to have a better home. Mickey has been in the house almost 4 years. Mickey lived 2 adults and no children. There are no dogs in the home but there are 5 other cats. The cats were all receptive to one another and altercation did not occur. Mickey is an indoor cat. He is independent and when visitors come he may be curious but may also go to his own place. Mickey uses open litter box with clumping litter. Mickey has not had a bath or a nail trim. He does mind being picked up and is not usually brushed. Mickey does not mind riding in a carrier. Mickey likes to play with wand toys and does not have a scratching post but is allowed to scratch the wooden bedboard which he likes. When the family is home he may seek petting. When home alone he is well behaved. Mickey enjoys to lay on the owners the lap. Mickey eats wet and dry food. Upon intake Mickey was not handled. Counselor was able to scan for microhip (negative) and photograph but did not collar.

Owner Profile: Mickey was bought into the care center due to his previous owner not being able to care for all his pets. Mickey lived two adults and no children. Mickey lived with five other cats. His behavior around dogs remains unknown. The previous owner stated all the cats got along with each other. Mickey is an indoor cat. He is said to be independent and when visitors come he may be curious but may also go to his own place. Mickey is litter box trained. Notes: At the time of the assessment Mickey was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats and hisses as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents with no children. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front , hisses Reaction to door cage opening: retreats, hisses Reaction to touch: tense, hissing, allows very limited petting Try picking cat up: Chi Chi does not allow handling, very tense Placement Determination: Experience no child
