MAYFAIR – A1050635
Gone 9-12-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 09/12/15*** UNFAIR FOR MAYFAIR!! THIS TERRIFIC TORTIE WAS QUIET AND RELAXED WITH HER FINDER AND IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY – BUT THE ACC GAVE HER AN UNFAIR NEW HOPE RATING AND WILL KILL HER ANYWAY! MAYFAIR was found and kept for a short time before being surrendered to BACC. She was friendly and kept to herself. Even at intake she was still relaxed until they put a collar on her and stuffed her into a cage! The Assessor showed up and petted her and because she DIDN’T react – and showed she was stressed – they slapped this poor cat with a NEW HOPE rating. The ACC knows that perfectly friendly cats are terrified in their place and will tense up and cower in a corner – yet they will punish them with a NEW HOPE rating and put them on the euth list like they did to MAYFAIR tonight! MAYFAIR IS MOST LIKELY A LOST PET AND NEEDS A NEW HOME – NOT A NEEDLE OF DEATH!! CONTACT A RESCUE TO SAVE THIS PRETTY GIRL AND YOU WILL BE REWARDED WITH A LOYAL PET!!

09/08/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
09/08/15 09:22 Mayfair A1050635 is a female Tortie DMH feline who was found in the finder’s neighborhood a week ago. They aren’t able to keep her. They didn’t have/know anyone who was able to take her in so she was brought into the BXAC. The finder stated Mayfair was very quiet & to herself in the home. During her week stay she was hidden and the finder believes she came out of hiding at night to eat & use the litter box. During intake Mayfair had a soft body & eyes. She allowed to be scanned (-), taken out of the carrier, held briefly and placed into a kennel with ease. Once the collar was placed on Mayfair she began to hiss, swat and attempted to flee from the back drop. A picture had to be taken in her kennel to allow her time to relax.

09/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Mayfair was brought in after being found in a yard. While briefly in the finder’s home, Mayfair was quiet and independent, hiding during the day and coming out at night to eat and use the litterbox. Mayfair has been only minimally tolerant of handling since intake. During the Assessor’s first visit Mayfair hissed; several days later during her behavior evaluation Mayfair is feigning sleep and does not respond to the Assessor at all. She seems to be distressed in the kennel environment. Reaction to assessor: Mayfair is curled in her litterbox. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains still. Reaction to touch: Mayfair does not react to the Assessor’s touch at all. Placement determination: New Hope Only Though she did not aggress during the evaluation, Mayfair appears to be highly stressed and this in combination with other known history leads us to feel that placement with a New Hope partner who can re-evaluation in a stable home environment is in Mayfair’s best interest.
