09/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lucy was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. During the intake she was nervous and slightly difficult to handle due to the fact that she was brought in with multiple cats in a large carrier. Reaction to assessor: Lucy was resting under her bed with her body curled up. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lucy lies motionless while slow blinking. Reaction to cage door opening: Lucy begins to lick her lips and her body becomes stiff. Reaction to touch: Lucy allows limited petting then moves away from the assessor. Reaction to being picked up: Lucy didn’t allow handling. She became tense and tried to jump away. Behavior Determination: Experience Lucy may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
