***SAFE 11/22/15***A VOLUNTEER WRITES: ‘Named for a Hawaiian island as beautiful and calmly relaxing as she is, Lanai simply could not be any sweeter. From the tips of her perfectly formed ears to the the tiny toes of her itty bitty feet, this petite Princess (under 7 pounds!) is a quietly affectionate girl; soft, loving and eager to meet and greet new friends of all kinds. Look closely and you’d swear Lanai’s softly smiling as she pushes her head into your hand for petting and motors up with husky purrs of delight. Easy does it is her motto and like Goldilocks searching for the perfect bed she likes her snuggles not too hard, not too soft but juuuust right and will let you know with a light grumble when she’s had enough. Lanai is so endearing and really unbelievably adorable (photos do not do her justice!) and she’s looking for a new home where she can lay back, relax and just be herself. How to take a trip to the tropics without ever leaving home? Welcome Lanai into your heart and say Aloha to a lifetime supply of love, loyalty and warm kitty snuggles…’ LANAI was found as a stray, allowed herself to be picked up and put into a carrier and brought to ACC. She’s a gentle, sweet girl who might even be lost-not all folks realize their lost cats can wind up here and dead before they can claim. OFFER TO FOSTER LANAI and SAVE HER LIFE! She is pretty and sweet, gentle, a kindly lady who is only 2 years old and an easy foster and easy for a rescue to find a home for. Be blessed by the Cat Goddess and kissed by the Universe-save this little lovely lady by fostering her!!!!

11/08/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Lanai was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder was able to place her in a carrier and bring her to the care center. She has a tense body upon intake, but allowed the counselor to handle her. She did become fractious, however, during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Lanai was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Lanai comes to the front, meows, and attempts to sniff the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Lanai remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Lanai was hesitant at first and shifts away slightly, but lies down and allows gentle petting on her head. She meows and focuses on the assessor’s hand when pet on her back. She will whine and growl when continuing to pet her on her back for a while. She doesn’t make any noise and seems unbothered when pet lightly on her head. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Lanai tolerates attention and petting but dislike being touched on certain areas of her body. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
