09/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Kit Cat was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She had a soft body and allowed handling upon intake, but hisses and growls during her initial medical exam. Reaction to Assessor: Kit Cat was calm and relaxed by the front. Reaction when softly spoken to: Kit Cat sniffs around. Reaction to cage door opening: Kit Cat remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Kit Cat becomes stiff and alert, and does not allow touch; she begins to yowl and strikes at the assessor’s hand. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Kit Cat is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
