05/11/15 14:36 Juvia is a female brown Torbie with calico marking around her body. Juvia has no known past or present medical conditions. Owner has had Juvia for a month and is surrendering because they are moving. Socialization Juvia lived with children ages 6, 5 and 4 for the past month but did not interact with them when the children approached Juvia would run away. Juvia did not live with other cats or dogs in the home. Juvia was an indoor out door cat and she was often seen playing with the cats outside. Juvia has a medium to high activity level and is litterbox trained. Juvia was described as shy and independent. Behavior Owners did not attempt to bathe or trim Juvias nails and when brushing her Juvia would try to get away. Juvia allowed to be picked up and held on occasion but when she didn’t want to be picked up would swat owners hand away but did not show aggression. for the new family to Know Juvia enjoys playing with toy mice, strings wands and anything to chase. Juvia uses a carpet vertical scratching post and an uncovered litter box with any type of litter. Juvia eats both wet and dry food and prefers fancy feast. When you’re in the home juvia tends to follow you around. When adults play with juvia she likes to play rough. Behavior During intake Juvia was tense in cat carrier and was trying to get. Once out to Carrier and in kennel Juvia relaxed and allowed to be scanned and collared. In kennel juvia came to front and rubbed against bars seeking attention. Juvia allowed petting.

Juvia lived with children ages 6, 5 and 4 for the past month but did not interact with them when the children approached Juvia would run away. Juvia did not live with other cats or dogs in the home. Juvia was an indoor out door cat and she was often seen playing with the cats outside. Juvia was described as shy and independent. Reaction to assessor: Juvia looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Juvia remains sitting upright, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Juvia accepts the stroke, but then becomes agitated with the touch and attempts to air nip and swat at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Juvia tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
