JULIA and friend BLU (not listed) lived together for two years before their owner had “Personal Problems”…Now this five year old, SPAYED, sweetheart finds herself listed!! She’s feeling pretty down about being left behind by her owner and she is sleeping a lot and not eating…PLEASE TURN JULIA’S FROWN UPSIDE DOWN!! 12/03/15 16:14 Basic Information: Julia is estimated to be around 5 years old. She had been living in her former owner’s basement with Blu for the past 2 years. Her former owner never her had her seen by a vet. Julia is described as very friendly and affectionate. Social Life and Personality: Julia has never been around kids before. She gets along very well with Blu. Julia and Blu don’t like dogs. They are very afraid of them. Julia and Blu are both very good with the litter box and they are both kept exclusively indoors. Both cats have pretty low activity levels. Julia is a mellow and affectionate cat. She loves to relax. Behavior History: Neither one of these cats has an issue with going into a carrier but neither one of them like to be picked up or held. Neither cat has ever bitten a person or another animal. For a New Family to Know: Julia and Blu are used to Fresh Step litter in a covered litter box. These guys don’t play all that much but they do enjoy small stuffed toys from time to time. They are also very good with a scratching post. They love carpet.

Julia’s previous owner states that she has never been around children before. She did, however, get along well with the resident male cat she lived with. The owner says she may not like dogs and is afraid of them. She was kept indoors only and has a low activity level. The owner says he doesn’t mind being placed into a carrier, but he dislikes being picked up and held. She was described as a mellow and affectionate cat. Reaction to Assessor: Julia was resting in her cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Julia gets up, stretches, comes to the front and rubs on the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Julia remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Julia head-butts, begins to purr, and twirls around in a circle to solicit attention. Reaction to being picked up: Julia becomes a bit tense, but she allows handling. She head-butts the assessor as soon as she is placed back in her kennel. Behavior Determination: Average Julia interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. No known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
