JELLY – A1045789
Safe 9-14-2015 Staten Island
***SAFE 09/14/15 *** ANOTHER CHANCE FOR JELLY TONIGHT!! JELLY CAME TO THE ACC WITH BFF PEANUT BUTTER (A1045790)….They like to cuddle and groom each other and a volunteer writes: Jelly is a pretty little tortoiseshell kitty. She is a little shy when you first meet her, but she enjoys a friendly pat on the head as much as the next cat. Torties are said to have “tortitude”; an attitude of believing they are special. And guess what- they are! Jelly has the most distinctive markings- just look at that cute striped nose. She is young and petite and she could be all yours. Jelly is waiting to meet you at the Brooklyn Animal Care Center….Sadly, Jelly has the shelter cold and the ACC plans to kill her tomorrow at NOON. Hurry if you want to save her tonight! CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO PULL JELLY AND MAYBE HER BFF PEANUT BUTTER TOO!

07/29/15 11:26 Came in together: A1045789-Jelly A1045790-Peanut Butter The surrender had Jelly and Peanut Butter in her home for the last two weeks. They were in the home with 4 large dogs, 2 adults, and 4 children ranging in ages from 12-18. The surrender states that they hide from 3 of the dogs but was relaxed with one of the dogs that was much calmer. They were very affectionate and were ooften found cuddling and grooming each other. They were gentle with everyone in the home. They were trained to use the litter box, struggled during baths, and enjoy cuddling and being pet. Intake Behavior: Jelly and Peanut Butter sat in the carrier with tense bodies. When the carrier door was opened they peeked their heads out but did not walk out. They allowed to be picked up and placed on the counter. When on the counter they were looking to hide. They allowed repositioning and collaring. They do not show any aggressive behaviors.

08/01/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE

Notes: Jelly was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, allows limited handling and tolerates all petting. Jelly is displaying behavior appropriate for a new cat owner. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you, is calm, relaxed When spoken quietly: comes to the front of cage, soliciting, rubbing against front Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention, rubs on hand, head butts Try picking cat up: Jelly becomes nerves while being handled Placement Determination: Average
