But JAZZ in also a domestic guy who likes to sleep with his owner and sit in their lap!! JAZZ is not yet neutered (which may help with the bossiness) but he is the whole package ….loving, plays, likes catnip and Temptation treats. JAZZ got a NEW HOPE rating at the ACC but most of us would get a NEW HOPE rating torn from our home and family!! 05/03/15 16:15 Basic Information: Jazz is a black and white male 3 year old cat with no apparent health conditions. Owner recieved the cat as a kitten from someone who rescued his parents. Social Life and Personality: Jazz has never been around children or dogs. Jazz has lived several other cats and is somewhat bossy toward them by swatting at the other cats. When Jazz plays with the other cats in his home he is very excited. Jazz is litterbox trained and rarely has any accidents. Jazz’s owner described him as friendly, affectionate and lively. Jazz is an indoor cat and dose not spend anytime outdoors. Behavior Issues: Jazz does claw on the furniture around the house because the client allowed him to, but has no other behavior issues. Jazz is hesitant to be put into a carrier and isn’t bothered by being disturbed from his sleep. Jazz has never been given a bath, had his nails trimmed, or his coat brushed by his owner. For a New family to know: Jazz uses clumping Scoop away litter in an uncovered litterbox. Jazz enjoys catnip toys and sitting in the sun by the window. Jazz scratches on furniture becuase he was never given a scratching post and will sleep in bed with you. At home Jazz will follow you around and sit on your lap. In the car jazz will cry and meow. Jazz likes temtations cat treats and eats both wet and dry cat food. Intake Behavior: Jazz was very shy when first coming in the center. He came out of his carrier and went to the back of the cage. Cat cannot be scanned or collared because he was very nervous.

Owner Profile: Jazz was bought into the care center by his previous owner is having landlord issues. Jazz has never been exposed to children so his behavior towards them are unknown. Jazz has lived with other cats he is said to be bossy by swatting at them. When Jazz plays with the other cats in his home he is very excited. Jazz has never been introduced to dogs so his behavior towards them are also unknown. Jazz is litterbox trained and rarely has any accidents. Notes: Jazz seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment he was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: hisses, growls at me (3) When spoken quietly: hisses, growls at me (3) Reaction to door cage opening: become stiff, alert, continues to hiss (3) Reaction to touch: hisses, growls (4) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of behavior, hisses Placement Determination: NewHope
