JAX – A1058951
Gone 12-1-2015 Brooklyn
**GONE 12/01/15** How does the ACC “cure” animals in their “care?” With a LETHAL INJECTION, of course, which is BAD NEWS for sweet JAX! This handsome guy is not feeling his best and needs to be seen by a vet….which the ACC has willingly arranged for him….but their vet is planning to KILL HIM tomorrow! He has only been there since 11/27 and a person can clearly imagine someone at the shelter keeping a countdown clock for the duration of his stray hold. “Three….two….one…….BOOM! Now he can go on the euth list!” The “shelter” they offer is no shelter at all; JAX needs the legitimate shelter of a FOSTER or ADOPTER to save his life, tonight!

11/30/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Jax was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. The finder found him loose in the streets, but ate the food that was provided to him by the finder. He did not allow much handling during intake and was hissing and growling during his initial medical exam, but he relaxes once held. Please note that Jax is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of the behavior assessment. This condition may affect some of the behaviors shown during evaluation. Reaction to Assessor: Jax was neutral in his cage upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Jax squints his eyes and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Jax becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Jax’s ears bend flat against his head and he starts to grumble, but he allows all petting and remains immobile. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Jax tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
