Essie’s former owner stated that she was affectionate and that she liked to be petted and that she doesn’t usually play with her. Also, she lived in a home with her 3 kittens. She was very affectionate toward her kittens and took great care of them. She has been described as friendly, shy, affectionate, quiet, and independent.
Reaction to assessor: Essie immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage.
Reaction to door opening: Essie remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention.
Reaction to touch: Essie rubs on the assessor’s hand, purrs, and appreciates petting on the head and body.
Reaction to Being Picked up: Allows the pickup and remains calm.
Placement determination: Beginner
Essie interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
This cat can go to a beginner home.

RELATIONSHIP
Essie’s previous owner found her as a stray about 2 months ago. She is currently about 3 years old. She scanned negative for a microchip.
PEOPLE
She lived in a home with one adult. Owner stated that she was affectionate and that she liked to be petted and that she doesn’t usually play with her. She has not bitten anyone.
OTHER ANIMALS
She lived in a home with her 3 kittens. Owner stated that she was a good mother and that she was very affectionate toward her kittens and took great care of them. She has not bitten any animals.
PERSONALITY
She is a moderately active indoor/outdoor cat with a free choice cat door. She has been described as friendly, shy, affectionate, quiet, and independent. She enjoys being held. She doesn’t like being placed in a carrier, and she usually struggles to get away. She likes to follow her owner around when hungry, and she usually likes to stay in a favorite spot when her owner is home. She meows some during car rides. She eats Friskies wet and dry food mixed, and she is usually fed about twice daily. She usually sleeps on the dining room table. She doesn’t scratch on the furniture. It should be noted that she does not have a scratching post to scratch on.
TRAINING
She is litter box trained and she also uses the bathroom outdoors.
BEAHVIOR DURING INTAKE
She was calm during the intake. She had a soft body and she solicited attention by head butting my hand. She allowed petting and handling and showed no signs of aggression.
