I came in the shelter as a OWNER SUR on 11/08/2015 from NY 11235, owner surrender reason stated was ALLERGIES. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-038802.

11/08/15 20:43 Basic Information: Duska is a female tortie British shorthair cat. She was surrendered along with her littermate Muska due to a family members severe allergies. She is described as strong, primal and energetic. Personality: Duska has lived with 5 adults, her behavior around children is unknown. Around other cats she is tolerant and relaxed. She does not typically engage in play with other cats, she has not been around dogs. She is litterbox trained and has been kept only indoors. Her activity level is described as medium, she has sudden bursts of energy and will run around the home. Behavior: Duska does not enjoy baths and will hiss and swat when owner tried to bathe her. She is fearful when her nails are trimmed and will struggle.She likes to be held for short periods of time and will flee when held for too long. For a new family: Duska uses Fresh step multi cat litter and a hooded litterbox. She playing with string, catnip toys and stuffed toys. She uses a vertical cardboard scratching post. She usually stays in the same room as her owner. She eats dry food Friskies brand and is fed three times a day. Her favorite treat is tuna and she likes to sleep in any comfortable space. Upon intake Duska was calm and relaxed, she had a loose body and was able to be handled. Counselor was able to scan, collar and photograph.

11/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Duska behavior was monitored by the enichment faciliator pior to her evaluation. They noticed Duska is nervous and uncomfortable in the care center. Duska has lived with five adults, her behavior around children is unknown. Around other cats she is tolerant and relaxed. She does not typically engage in play with other cats, she has not been around dogs. She is litterbox trained and has been kept only indoors. Her activity level is described as medium, she has sudden bursts of energy and will run around the home. Reaction to assessor: Duska watched the assessor from the back of the cage When spoken quietly: Duska continued to watched the assessor from the back of the cage Reaction to door cage opening: Duska appeared nervous Reaction to touch: Duska allows petting and attention with a slow Try picking cat up: Duska is tolerant of this type of handling. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Duska was displaying timid behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, allows attention and tolerates all petting. Muska is displaying behavior appropriate for an experienced cat parents.
