***GONE 09/11/15*** SECOND CHANCE, PLEASE MAKE IT COUNT! CUDDLES is his name and he sure loves to do it,hence his name! The 2 year old has been surrendered due to personal problems and this guy is not liking the ACC. The NEUTERED boy had lived with an adult and 10 year old child. But now ,after being an “ONLY PET” his whole life,he’s in a room,jammed in a cage and packed with other animals. CUDDLES is not thriving in his environment and who blames him? He’s been an only pet. Of COURSE HES SCARED! So for such behavior he us NEW HOPE RESCUE ONLY! PLEASE contact a NEW HOPE RESCUE and take this guy home! He just needs to be out of the shelter environment and decompress and should go back to spending the day CUDDLING with you!

09/03/15 15:18 Basic Information: Cuddles is a 2 year old altered domestic shorthair. He was brought from a pet store 2 years ago and been with owner ever since. Owner surrenders Cuddles moving and personal problems. Social Life and Personality: Cuddles lived with 1 adult and a child of the age of 10. Owner describes Cuddles as relaxed, affectionate and tolerant towards everyone in the household. Owner stated Cuddles got his name because he loves to cuddle next to everyone in the household. Cuddles behavior towards other animals is unknown because he was the only pet. He is indoors only and activity level is to a medium. Owner describes Cuddles as mellow and friendly. Behavior Issues: Cuddles never bitten or scratched anyone owner stated. He has a habit of clawing on the walls and rugs. Cuddle will only take baths if in his cage but never had a nail trim. He isn’t bothered being picked up and held. For a New Family to Know: Cuddles is litter box trained and uses an uncovered litter box. He likes to play with stuffed toy such as teddy bears. He had a scratching post made out rough rope and carpet. He likes to follow owner around the house, be in the same room or sit on owner’s lap. Owner stated Cuddles know when he does something wrong because he will go inside of his crate. He likes to eat wet and dry food called Organics from Wholefood. Owner stated Cuddles likes to sleep in boxes. Intake Behavior: Upon intake Cuddles was growling, hissing and swatting. He was fractious and didn’t allow any handling. No photo or collar put on at this time.

Owner Profile: Cuddles was bought into the care center due to his previous owner going though personal problems. Cuddles lived with one adult and a child. The previous owner described Cuddles as relaxed, affectionate and tolerant towards everyone in the household. They also stated Cuddles got his name because he loves to cuddle next to everyone in the household. Cuddles behavior towards other animals is unknown because he was the only pet. He is indoors only and activity level is to a medium. Notes: Cuddles seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment. He was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to strike and is extremely fearful. Cuddles currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but appears calm When spoken quietly: does not come to front but appears calm Reaction to door cage opening: becomes alert Reaction to touch: growls, hisses, strikes, does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Cuddles due to fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
