According to their current owners, COWBOY and TOYOTA are always together…Sadly their original owner passed ….”Their primary owner passed away and the other family members are moving and don’t have time for the cats.” COWBOY is two years old and a mellow guy who used his litterbox and liked to follow family members around and sit on them!! 12/12/15 15:55 BASIC INFO Cowboy and Toyota are 2 year old male DSH cat brothers. Their family found them as strays when they were kittens. Their primary owner passed away and the other family members are moving and don’t have time for the cats. SOCIALIZATION Cowboy is friendly/outgoing with strangers. He plays exuberantly with people. He was always with Toyota. They were relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and played exuberantly together. Cowboy has never bit/scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR Cowboy is nervous in the car. He doesn’t mind when someone brushes him, picks him up, or holds him. He struggles when put into a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Cowboy’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, mellow, quiet, and medium energy. He follows and sits on his family members. He plays with stuffed toys and catnip toys. He lived inside and slept on top of the cabinet. He ate dry salmon Meow Mix food. He’s littertrained, used a hooded litterbox with clumping litter, and didn’t have accidents. He scratched a bed and trunk but didn’t have a scratching post. INTAKE Cowboy was tense and hissed a couple of times while I pet him, scanned him (-), and encouraged him to walk into his kennel. He retreated to the back, where he lied down quietly while I took his pictures. I returned and he was tense but tolerant and quiet while I pet and collared him.

Cowboy’s former owner stated he is friendly/outgoing with strangers. He plays exuberantly with people. He was always with Toyota. They were relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and played exuberantly together. Also, describes him as friendly, affectionate, mellow, quiet, and medium energy. Reaction to assessor: Cowboy looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Cowboy remains crouched position at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Cowboy hisses at the assessor’s hand, but after a few strokes he began to slowly headbutt but remains cautious with his surroundings. Placement determination: Experience/no child Cowboy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
