COURTNEY- A1048285

***GONE 08/23/15*** COURTNEY NEEDS A RESCUE ANGEL TONIGHT ! COURTNEY was brought into the ACC as a stray so we don’t know if he is a lost pet, or if he has ever lived in a home. Sadly, when any cat is brought into the shelter, the sounds and smells are enough to scare the daylights out of the friendliest of pets! COURTNEY is about 3 years old and is not thriving in the shelter – what a surprise. He will need a place to decompress and learn to trust again and before you know it, you will have a wonderful cat who will be your best friend! GIVE COURTNEY THAT CHANCE TONIGHT AND CONTACT A RESCUE TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY. NEW HOPE RATINGS ARE VERY UNFAIR AS THEY ONLY MEASURE THE FEAR A CAT HAS IN THE SHELTER AND NOT HIS BEHAVIOR IN A HOME. HELP COURTNEY LIVE TODAY!

08/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Courtney was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. He seems to not be thriving in this environment. At the time of the assessment Courtney was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to strike and is extremely fearful. Courtney currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: becomes stiff, alert Reaction to touch: strikes, does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: Courtney is very fearful and does not allow handling Placement Determination: NewHope
