I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 06/09/2015 from NY 10452, owner surrender reason stated was OWNER DIED.

Cicada is not thriving in the kennel environment, tensing and hissing when approached. We feel it is in her best interest to move into a stable home environment as quickly as possible. 6/12 eval: Reaction to assessor: Cicada looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Cicada remains sitting upright on her cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Cicada accepts the stroke, stands with tail up and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: She jumps back into her cage. Placement determination: Average Cicada interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
