08/24/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Caillou reaches the assessor with his paws and rolls on his back upon approach. He chirps and begins to purr when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Caillou retreats to the back of the cage. Reaction to touch: Caillou attempts to avoid touch and flinches when first touched. He rubs his head onto his litter box and rubs on the assessor’s hand, but suddenly bites hard. Note: Please note that Caillou became fractious during his initial medical exam and it was noted that there may be some discomfort or pain possible. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Caillou is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. Due to his reaction to handling during the medical exam and his willingness to strike out to avoid handling in certain situations, we feel that placement with experienced cat adopters is in Caillou’s best interest. Please note that his behavior may change once his medical condition is addressed and he has recovered from his condition.
