***SAFE 08/19/15*** Who can possibly want to kill a kitten? THE ACC DOES,AND WILL unless someone steps up! BUTTERCUP’S name described her so well. The little 4 month old baby is cute as a button and doesn’t even mind being picked up and held by strange hands as so many little ones may not like. She has been around other cats and is relaxed and affectionate around them. However she is stressed at the shelter, as would ANY kitten thats not used to noise and other animals barking, and crying. She just doesn’t like it and since she hasn’t been around children she may be intimidated by them so she has a EXPNOCHILD rating. But BUTTERCUP casn be reserved online until noon tomorrow AS LONG as you can PERSONALLY pick her up at the shelter. If you need transport or any other assistance, email the Help Desk at [email protected] and foster or adopt this LITTLE girl TODAY!

08/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Buttercup becomes alert and is crouched over upon approach. She focuses on the assessor and meows softly when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Buttercup becomes stiff and immobile. Reaction to touch: Buttercup backs away from the assessor’s hand and hisses. She meows softly as the assessor continues to coax her, but she keeps backing up and hisses. She allows touch, but twitches and curls up into a ball in the corner. As per previous owner, Buttercup is shy with new people. She has not been around children, but has lived with 5 male cats. She is relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and plays exuberantly with them. She doesn’t mind when someone picks her up, holds her, or puts her in a carrier. Buttercup’s family describes her as friendly, playful, shy, and quiet with a high energy level. Behavior Determination: Average Buttercup tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
