12/07/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Blu’s previous owner states that he got along well with the female resident cat he lived with. He may not like dogs and is afraid of them. He was kept indoors only and has a low activity level. The owner says he doesn’t mind being placed into a carrier, but he dislikes being picked up and held. Reaction to Assessor: Blu was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Blu looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Reaction to cage door opening: Blu remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Blu was a bit hesitant, but he arches his back and leans into petting. He begins to warm up and really appreciates petting, but he still seems wary of the environment and stays by the back of his cage, lip licking at times. Reaction to being picked up: Blu shifts away from pick up, but continues to allow gentle petting. Behavior Determination: Experience Blu tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
