Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Hiding in den when I approach. (3) Reaction to being spoken to quietly: Continues to hide. (3) Reaction to cage door opening: Remains motionless. (2) Reaction to touch: Seems tense, but allows limited petting. (3) Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt, cat appears stressed. Notes: Ashton came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. At the time of the assessment, Ashton is displaying fearful behavior. She avoids interaction with the assessor, but does allow some handling.
