APRIL – A1050155
Urgent 9-6-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 09/06/15*** APRIL thought her life was set. She lived in a home with her cat mother Allyah, a Shih Tzu and her owners. But her owner is going into a homeless shelter and poor APRIL is losing her home and her family!! APRIL is a cutie with beautiful white, orange and lack markings. The shelter can’t make up their mind how old she is. They list her as 2 years old and then as 8 years old. Only APRIL knows for sure!! She is described by her owner as shy, affectionate and mellow. She loves to sleep on the couch and play with toys. She takes a little while to trust people but once she does, she is very sweet. She would make a wonderful cat companion to an experienced cat home with no children. Sadly, she is on today’s kill list at the shelter. Don’t let this noisy lonely shelter be the last place she ever sees!! APRIL desperately needs a kind heart to give her a chance to live a wonderful kitty life. Please be her chance! Foster or adopt this lovely little cat-girl and you will be so glad you did!!!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
April’s former owner describes as shy for a few minutes around strangers, but once they warm up they are very sweet. April has lived with children ranging from 15 and up and she was respectful of the children. They do not play with children or adults. She has also lived with a Shi Tzu and they were very loving and affectionate with each other. Reaction to assessor: April looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: April remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert wide-eyed. Reaction to touch: April accepts the stroke, but flinches on the touch, stiffens up in place and began to lip lick. Placement determination: Experience / no child April tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
