*** GONE 09/04/15 *** TWO FEARFUL CATS FOUND IN A YARD, FIGHTING FOR THEIR LIVES TONIGHT…..APPLE & RED ROBIN are two cats who were probably throw aways and abandoned at some point…now they are fearful and alone at the ACC…supposedly a place where they should be safe…..APPLE is the most afraid with a NEW HOPE rating and RED ROBIN only slightly less afraid with and Experience/No Child rating…. A SPECIAL PURRSON CAN HELP BOTH THESE CATS TONIGHT…..FOSTERING CAN SAVE THEM. They just need time and patience and you know that the ACC won’t give them that….PLEASE FOSTER AN ADULT CAT….THEY NEED YOUR HELP TOO…..

I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 08/31/2015 from NY 10031, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY. I came in with Group/Litter #K15-030343.

08/31/15 16:36 Basic Information Applebee was brought in as a stray after being found in a client’s yard. Client says the cats allowed handling and did not show him any aggression. Behavior during Intake Applebee was visibly afraid and stressed during intake. His ears were flattened and he had dilated pupils. He cried bery loudly while in carrier, and attempted to flee once removed. Despite being afraid Applebee allowed all handling, and showed no sigbns of aggression during intake.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Apple looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Apple retreats at the back of the cage, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Apple does not allow the stroke and hisses with ears down to the side while his eyes began to wander. Placement determination: NH ONLY Apple is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. He is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
