ANATOL – A1036419
5-17-2015 Manhattan
**SAFE 05/17/15** Diabetic, Loving, and Slated To Die! ANATOL is a super 7-year-old boy whose former owner surrendered him to the shelter on account of his medical condition. Anatol cannot understand why his life has changed so drastically, and of course, he misses the people he had loved for so long. He loves attention and is said to stick his tongue out in order to encourage people to pet him, so you can tell he has a great personality. This fun, interesting boy will be killed tomorrow afternoon unless a foster/adopter steps up for him, tonight.

05/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Anatol came to us as an owner surrender on 5/15/15. It was reported by the previous owner that Anatol would sometimes become under-stimulated and this would result in the cat trying to play rough with her children. When approaching Anatol’s cage he can be seen with very soft and relaxed body language. He allowed the assessor to pet him softly, and pick him up while maintaining very soft body language. Anatol is social and affectionate but appears to be easily overstimulated AND/OR plays roughly. As a result of this recorded behavior we recommend experienced adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Anatol becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but looks at you – is calm, relaxed and friendly (1) When spoken to quietly: does not come to front but looks at you – is calm, relaxed and friendly (1) Reaction to cage door opening: remains soft and relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention – rubs, chirps, meows (1) Reaction to being picked up: Allows this form of handling
