**SAFE 05/29/15** “A volunteer writes: Alexander is a senior citizen who is in search of another forever home. This handsome gent looks and acts years younger than his age. He is truly quite the gentleman, whose eyes are full of love and hope. Would you consider giving Alexander a second chance at happiness?” Alexander lived with his former owners, as their one and only cat, for FIFTEEN YEARS. This gorgeous, somewhat rattled pet will be mercilessly killed by the “shelter” tomorrow unless a foster or adopter steps up for him tonight. Please help him…..

05/18/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: At the front of the cage when I approach, meows. (1) Reaction to being spoken to quietly: Stays at the front of the cage. (1) Reaction to cage door opening: Retreats. (3) Reaction to touch: Growls at me, does not allow petting. (4) Reaction to being picked up: Did not attempt. Notes: Alexander was surrendered to the shelter by an owner who describes him as affectionate but independent, and mentions that he has never been around other cats or spent much time in a carrier. At the time of the assessment, Alexander seeks attention but does not tolerate handling, and is likely stressed in the shelter environment. Alexander is exhibiting behavior suited for experienced cat parents with no small children who can help him to readjust to a home environment.
